Grading Percentages

All student work will be based upon the following percentage application per assignment. 
  • Participation/Spiral                5%
  • Homework                           15%
  • Classwork/Warm-ups       20%
  • Quizzes                               25%
  • Tests/Projects                      35%


U.S. History class is a "work and earn" learning environment.

   8th Grade Promotion Criteria

All 8th grade students must meet the district criteria to promote on to the high school.  In an effort to help middle school; to help develop and maintain good study habits and focus, and to provide a more structured transition from elementary school to high school the criteria for participation in end-of-year activities are listed below:
  • Maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA
  • Receive no more than 10 days of ISS/OSS combined
  • Receive no referral results in ISS/OSS within 30 days of the event
GPA is determined by averaging Trimester 1, Trimester 2, and Hexmester 5 (Trimester 3 Progress Report) grades together.  All subject areas will calculate into the GPA.
End-of-the-year activities for 8th grade include:​​
  • Promotion

Study Hall / Tutoring

Need help with homework?  Please come to Study Hall on Tuesday or Thursday from 8-8:30 AM.

Schedule additional opportunities either before school or lunch as necessary. 

Please note students are encouraged to ask for additional help from their teachers.  If at any time you, as a parent, experience concern regarding your child feel free to schedule an appointment.
